this little piggy went home

it was five weeks ago when emily first showed up. she wasn't talking to us, but i think her expression gets her message across nicely, so long as the message is: who the f**k are you, where the f**k am I, and what's this s**t on my eyes?

i barfed. on dad.

i didn't mean to, but i just had too much milk. i ruined my new Blind onesie, too. i'm bummed.

my couch

these days i spend a lot of time on the couch. there really aren't that many places to go, truth be told. so the couch is as good a place as any. i'll bide my time. today, the living room. tomorrow, the world...

Me and Grandma Jane are getting to know each other.

Mom and I taking a well-deserved nap. On the couch.

Mom and I again, this time we're...well, we're on the couch. But a different part of the couch.

Okay yes, it's me and Mom on the couch, again, but this one's part of the same group as the photo above. Blame dad. He's camera-happy.

This is me with Grandma Jane, Grampa Peter, Uncle Sam, and Mommy.

friends, family, being lazy

We're just having a lazy weekend around the house. Mom gave me a bath and a stroll around the neighborhood. Life is good.

Chillin' in my bouncy thing

Bonding with dad and his chest hair

Will you people stop taking photos of me when i'm half naked!

That's me and Grandma Jane, with Mommy in the background.

Aunty Gretchen, if you don't have milk, we gots a problem.

i especially like my piggy wrap when i'm done

i like dressing up, too

i think i'll have some milk now. fresh squeezed, please.

this guy still kinda creeps me out. always nibbling on my ears and toes.

mommy took me for a stroll around the neighborhood. i slept.

i like dad's reading chair. in fact, i'm gonna leave him a booger.

Waking Up

Waking up is quite a process, but I've gotten pretty good at it.
This one only took me 2 minutes!
It's a lot easier than falling asleep though!

grampa, nana, and emily

Emily met her grandparents today. I think everyone got along pretty well.

My first bath

Today I had my first bath. They told me it was going to be fun. I won't fall for that again!

i lost my WHAT???

Hi everyone. I seem to have misplaced my nub. It's black and gross, and it used to sit nicely inside my little belly button. When I showed up here, I didn't have a hell of a lot. Just my nub. And now it's gone missing. It kind of has some sentimental value, so if anyone finds it, i'd be so happy. I just feel like a part of me is missing.

Oh, and as a reward, you can pretty much take your pick. There's hundreds of dollars worth of stuff mom and dad bought for me. I dont really give a damn about any of it yet, so i wouldn't be heartbroken if you wanted to trade me my nub for these thoughtful gifts.

Emily's Two-Week Update

For someone who is mere days old, Emily sure has a heavy social calendar. This past weekend she attended her first wedding, and also had her first barbecue at the house. We sort of had our hands full, or else we'd have pictures of Renee, Meg, Gretchen, and more taking turns holding her. She's had a nonstop stream of visitors. Gretchen has been over here more in the last 2 weeks that in the preceeding 6 years. And if that wasn't enough, Nana and Grampa Sullivan are coming into town on Wednesday to hang out with Emily.

We learn more and more about each other every day. Today, for example, we realized she inherrited dad's crazy legs syndrome. CLS is a rare disease that affects pretty much just me and apparently my offspring, and it strikes right as you climb into bed. You are bowled over with an uncontrollable need to, put simply, go crazy with your legs. Treatments include: the upside-down invisible bicycle, the see-how-long-you-can-flex-your-legs for, and the get up and run around for a while. Severe cases are prescribed a series of cocktails (what else are you gonna do? can't sleep...), but i dont think Emily is ready for that quite yet. It's awful cute, though, watching her wrinkle her brow and kick at the air. It's okay, sweety. Daddy understands....
