3/2010 no more diapers at night!!
2/2010 I buttoned my own buttons!
1/04/10 age 2.5: first day of school
12/2009: I can put on my own shoes
10/2009 age 2: officially potty trained!
7/02/09 age 2: I pooped in the potty!
6/2009 age 2: I sing complete songs
4/2009 age 22 mos: I can jump like a champ
3/2009 age 21 mos: I'm officially talking!
2/05/09 my first 6-word sentence
2/2009 age 20 mos: i can recognize half the alphabet
1/24/09 my first 5-word sentence
1/15/09 my first 4-word sentence
1/2009 age 19 mos: i can put on my own shoes, count to 10 and spell my name. I also have a talent for remembering names
12/2008 age 18 mos: i'm using 3-word sentences and can go up and down stairs
11/2008 age 17 mos: i'm using 2-word sentences
9/2008 age 15 mos: i can feed myself
7/2008 age 13 mos: i can put on a hat and walk up and down a step. (but not at the same time)
6/2008 i can use a fork
6/08/08 i am officially off formula
6/01/08 age 12 mos: i peed in the potty!
05/2008 age 11 mos: i love to dance to music
4/10/08 age 10 mos: took my first steps! without help!
3/23/08 i learned to say "da da"
3/10/08 i walk laps around the house (with help, of course)
3/2008 age 9 mos: i can stand up on my own
2/2008 age 8 mos: i say "mum mum" all day long. I learned to clap my hands, wave "hi" and "bye. i point at everything
1/20/08 i can pull myself up on things
1/2008 age 7 mos: i'm crawling everywhere and can chew my cheerios
12/26/07 my first tooth is breaking out - bottom right
12/2007 age 6 mos: I can sit up and feed myself biscuits. leaving the breastmilk for formula, slowly
11/5/07 I go mental for carrots!
11/2007 age 5 mos: I grab at EVERYTHING. I've learned to squeal. i do it all the time. my favorite thing to eat is newspaper
10/31/07 eat rice cereal
10/18/07 i found my toes
10/2007 - i crack up at funny things. not just smiles anymore
10/13/07 i've learned to put things in my mouth, not just hands anymore
10/3/07 i slept from 8pm to 6am. i'd consider that "thru the night!"
10/3/07 age 4 mos: suck my thumb
9/2/07 age 3 mos: grab my toys
8/27/07 bat at my toys
8/25/07 roll over onto my belly
8/18/07 suck on my own tongue
8/15/07 do a push up
8/2007 age 2 mos: i talk now, but they don't understand me
6/2007 age 0 mo: grunt, sneeze, spit up, poop, suck on my hand
6/19/07 age 1 day: i can see outside the womb! sort of...
4/2007 flail my arms, kick my legs

"kids say the darndest things..."

6/12/10: driving home from a weekend trip, waking up from a long nap in the car seat: "Emily, did you have a good nap?" answer: "I'm still having it..." and goes back to sleep.
6/11/10: walked in on her unraveling the entire roll of toilet paper onto a pile on the ground in the hotel room: "Emily! why did you do that?!!" her answer, innocently: "because I love to." What can you say to that?
12/15/09: "today is a 'night' day" an observation she made while on a night time christmas lights walk
11/28/09: "it's a big one, daddy. It's a big 'daddy poop'. Daddy poop, daddy poop...." Emily's warning to Adam as he greets her from her nap.
9/28/09: "once upon a time there was french fries and beef..." while pretending to read a cookbook.
9/19/09: while observing the few solitary men waiting for the train, "everybody is so sad. I'm sad too". Her first glimps of an environment where everyone isn't doting on her.
7/12/09: "mommy has a big butt, don't open your butt mommy!"
2009: to anything flying in the sky, (birds, planes, insects) "they're going to see nana and grampa!"
