today i had my four month doctor visit. it turns out that i actually lost a few ounces. i weighed 13 lbs 2 oz at the beginning of the month and today i checked in at 12 lbs 15 oz, which isn't a big deal since it's only a few ounces, but i should have gained 8-10 oz so that put me in the tenth percentile!!! i just don't each as much when i sleep through the night. doctor says i need to add formula to my diet but i hate it so much!!! what a horrible day it was...

this is what i looked like after getting stabbed in the thighs four times.

Terry the nurse was very nice though, she gave me cool bandages.

and of course, it just knocked me out

but i get over it pretty quickly

Today we visited friends. Dwayne and Liz brought Severn to the park but mommy forgot to take a picture. He is 3 weeks younger than me but he is twice my size and has a head full of hair. Parker is 3 months older than me and he can already sit up. Penelope is 9 months older than me and she can already walk. i can't wait until i can do those things.

i hang out with parker a lot. he's a cool kid.

9/2008 age 15 mos: i can feed myself
7/2008 age 13 mos: i can put on a hat and walk up and down a step. (but not at the same time)

12/2007 age 6 mos: I can sit up and feed myself biscuits. leaving the breastmilk for formula, slowly

11/2007 age 5 mos: I grab at EVERYTHING. I've learned to squeal. i do it all the time. my favorite thing to eat is newspaper

"kids say the darndest things..."

6/12/10: driving home from a weekend trip, waking up from a long nap in the car seat: "Emily, did you have a good nap?" answer: "I'm still having it..." and goes back to sleep.
6/11/10: walked in on her unraveling the entire roll of toilet paper onto a pile on the ground in the hotel room: "Emily! why did you do that?!!" her answer, innocently: "because I love to." What can you say to that?
12/15/09: "today is a 'night' day" an observation she made while on a night time christmas lights walk
11/28/09: "it's a big one, daddy. It's a big 'daddy poop'. Daddy poop, daddy poop...." Emily's warning to Adam as he greets her from her nap.
9/28/09: "once upon a time there was french fries and beef..." while pretending to read a cookbook.
9/19/09: while observing the few solitary men waiting for the train, "everybody is so sad. I'm sad too". Her first glimps of an environment where everyone isn't doting on her.
7/12/09: "mommy has a big butt, don't open your butt mommy!"
2009: to anything flying in the sky, (birds, planes, insects) "they're going to see nana and grampa!"
