Today was a very "New Englandy" day: Grampa took us to the Dinosaur park. Then we saw Grampa's old house in Rocky Hill, then took a ferry. We don't have pictures because we were too busy eating yummy fried clams!

Then we went to the Fish Farm to see chickens. Don't worry, I was confused too.

Luckily there was ice cream, and I forgot why I was confused.

Connecticut Part Two

Mommy misses me a bunch, so daddy's coming out of blog retirement.
Here's what I've been up to in Connecticut so far...

I ride the little scooters around, but sometimes it just starts raining.
This confuses me.

I eat a whole lot. But that's nothing new.

We also like to look for chipmunks. There's a lot of them. The one sleeping in Grampa's pool skimmer was pretty easy to find.

And swimming is my new favorite thing!

And of course I love to have Nana read me books before bed.

Summer In Connecticut

Daddy took me to visit Nana and Grampa for the summer. We just got here, and I'm already helping Nana do chores.

There's all sorts of fun things to play with around here!

This is Po. Nana bought him for me for five bucks. He's like my friend Caballito back home.

So far I spend most of my time in the pool!

Daddy gets to love the pool with me, too!

Three Years Old!

Guess what everyone? It's my birthday! We kicked off year number three with a great big party.

of course, the jumpy is a must. Penelope was bouncing like nobody's business.
she outlasted everyone, including me!

...and so many presents!!

This was truly the ONE thing i wanted and the ONLY thing i asked for:
a great big Dora cake.

then we had a treasure hunt. i got so much stuff!

my first present came in the mail the day before from auntie Amy.

i painted my toes....

then i painted mommy and daddy's toes.

look at this awesome paint job.

rumor has it, i'm going to get another birthday party when i get to nana and grandpa's house. i like the idea of that.

One of my favorite gifts was a laptop.
Now I can do work like Mommy and Daddy!

Back in April, Mommy took us to the Oceanside craft fair. Daddy's only now getting around to posting the photos, though.

I was so excited!

We built all kinds of art projects.

I also drew some pictures.

And then Daddy bought me a duck balloon. I named him "Quack." He almost lasted the whole ride home. I still talk about him today.

started 2010 with pre-school! we bought a second car seat so it would be easier to coordinate getting me to and from. i'm in class mon-thurs, in a mixed age room at Peppertree Montessori School. i barely made the cut-off for the toddler class so i'm the youngest one in my class and i love it!!

mom and dad were nervous about leaving me alone for the first time, but i am just fine. too many new things going on to even notice that they are not around.

he bought me a hot pink bodysuit so i could stand out, but i didn't need any help standing out.

matter of fact, i tried to make up my own dances, but the girls wouldn't listen. i thought that chairs made better props than hula-hoops.

Pumpkin Patch

Mom and Dad (I've recently dropped the last couple letters from "Mommy" and "Daddy") took me to the pumpkin fair in Irvine park where Poh Poh used to take Mom when she was a little girl. Ah Yi even came to meet us!

We had a junk food picnic. Mom ate Taco Bell that
made her sick, and I looked for birdy feathers.

I played on all the pumpkins, but I liked this one best. Dad didn't buy it for me because he didn't want to lug that damn thing all over Irvine.

But he did buy me a ticket for the jumpy, boy was that fun! I jumped until I got tired, then Mom gave me a juice box that I sucked down in one gulp.

Look at how tall i'm getting! Pretty soon I'll be getting into bars without being carded!

Then I played scarecrow for a while.

We all went on a train ride around the park. I was pretty tired
by then, though, hence the lack of interest on my face.

Then Dad and I fed the ducks for a while. They liked my stale goldfish crackers.

Fort Daddy

after a few visits to the YMCA pool, daddy thought it would be more economical to buy me one. (actually, uncle pete and aunt connie paid for it) I swim in it every day! I've gotten quite good at swimming.

Nana & Grampa gave me some suitcases for when i need to run away from home and go to connecticut. they came pre-packed with lots of new clothes!!

mom and dad made up for blowing off my first birthday by spoiling me rotten this time around. we started off the weekend with a brand new bike! i had been talking about this bike since i saw it at the park. it's a princess bike!!
i also got a dora bounce house for my party. it absolutely frightened me at first. it was just too big!
but then mommy dragged me inside and i never wanted to come out.
i did some serious jumping...

Mommy left for Rome yesterday, and I miss her, but it's business as usual around the house. Daddy took me to the park for slides and swings.

Daddy took me to the office and I got tired from handing out Pockys (i ate a lot myself).

Then Daddy made me Kongee and eggs for dinner, my favorite! He made me an egg-angel and an egg-cell phone.

I sat on the couch and watched Dora.

These days i'm a regular chatterbox. I talk to daddy all day long.

And of course we have tubby-time every night!

since i'm always trying to break daddy's glasses, i got some of my own just for breaking. it took me about 20 seconds to snap them in half.who's that weirdo in the mirror?

crib no more

last week, all the sudden, i decided that i wanted nothing to do my crib anymore. daddy had to sleep on the couch so that i could have his side of the bed. mommy finally decided that i had to go back to my own bed. good thing she figured out that it was because i just didn't like be confined anymore and converted my crib into a big girl bed. so now i can sleep and wake when i please-i think all parties involved like this new arrangement.

in other news, i went to the zoo with kimlan. she was afriad of ALL the animals so i didn't feel so bad about not wanting to go in the petting zoo.

i like hanging out in the nook. if i were a kitty, this is where i would sleep all day. i guess i don't really have to be a kitty...

merry christmas!
this will be my last blog post of the year so i'll make it a long one with all the nice details of my christmas vacation.

i took my first plane ride to visit nana and grandpa in connecticut. airplanes are huge!

i'm going as carry on because mommy didn't buy me a ticket. i have to make sure i fit.

I'm going to have to sit still for how long!!?

it wasn't so bad after all. i crawled around and picked up some trash for a bit, pulled everything out of the seat pocket and put it back in several dozen times...

then i took a nap...

...watched some dora...
got off the plane for some lunch and romp around a new airport. got on another plane...

...took another nap... and then we were there!

nobody told me it was going to be so COLD. good thing grandpa came prepared with a big puffy jacket.

i barely made it back to the house. knackered from a day of traveling!

the next day i got to play with my first snow. nana started me off with a scoop from the back porch.

then i got bundled up and went outside...

it was a little weird at first, but i liked stomping through it and making holes in the thick white ground

then nana and i made cookies. i was a very good helper

i also helped tug on all the ornaments to make sure they were on tight enough. most of them were not.

we had christmas eve dinner at pete and connie's. cousin francis brought me a drink
we had so many presents under the tree!
but i really didn't care what was inside of them. i was just trying to see how many bows i could stick on my head.

how's this for a look. i may be onto something here...

went back out to play in the snow. i'm really starting to like this.

she shared her toys with me too
she tried to give me a kiss but forgot to take her binkie out.
we took a walk at the beach and played on the pier.
and i got to eat and eat and eat all weekend long.

daddy and mommy took me to get a pumpkin. it was a long drive so i took a nap on the way up.

there were all kinds of animals. i didn't like them very much . the ducks were ok.

they said i could pick out any pumpkin i wanted. i wanted this one but i couldn't lift it.

so then i found this one, but daddy didn't want to help me carry it either.

then i found this one! it was the best!

and i didn't need anyone to help me carry it.

Elijah's Birthday

So I went to my cousin Elijah's second birthday a couple weeks ago. I had a good nap on the way up.

We got to Long Beach, and it was sunny. I don't know what I think about the beach yet.

After a brief trip to the ocean, I decided, and made it very clear to daddy that i DON'T LIKE SAND.

Daddy managed to get a photo of the birthday boy before I was over it.

I've been pretty busy lately.

Much to Mom and Dad's chagrin, I love climbing the stairs. They worry too much, though. I'm really good at it!

Mom and I hang out a lot.

And of course we go out to eat! Here we are at Hana Sushi.

And of course Souplantation! I love buffets!

Mommy and Daddy took me on a picnic in the park!

I'm a big girl now, so I can face forward in the car.
I'm very excited about this.

I tried to share my macaroni and cheese, but they wouldn't share their Subway sandwiches!

Mommy shared her water, though.

After lunch, Daddy and I played on the jungle gym.

Picnics are so much fun. I can't wait to go again!

great grandma's birthday

we went to l.a. to celebrate great grandma's birthday. nobody told me that i should have given her the seat. babies don't know these things!!!

i kept waving to great uncle howard's fish, but they didn't wave back.

we went to a dim sum restaurant so i got to show off my chopstick skills

it was great grandma's birthday, but great aunt lanny got me a present too! i named her baby. watch out dolly!

end of summer

I've been hanging out in the backyard a lot lately, just trying to enjoy the rest of summer before it's over. i climb in the wagon, then out, and then back in. it's fun. you should come over and do it sometime.

went to the wild animal park with parker.
i've never faced forward in the car before! it's so much more exciting.

it may be the end of summer, but this was one of the hottest days i've seen. hurry up and take this picture so i can crawl back into my stroller!

still not sure what to think of the animals... i'll just keep a safe distance

housewarming

we finally had our housewarming, even though the house is not quite finished. i helped clean up for the party.

i also helped put some plants into pots, but i couldn't resist taking the rocks back out.

one of my new favorite things to do is climb into things. this basket fits rather nicely.

the toybox was fun too. i sat in here for almost an hour.

Parker came to the housewarming, i was in a much better mood this time.

this is still my favorite doll from aunty heather

i ate this nectarine in 4 bites. i love fruit.

i got cupcakes for my late birthday party! (which was also the housewarming party)

baby's first catheter

woke up from my evening nap with a burning fever on thursday. parker came to play so i tried not to complain too much. mommy finally took my temperature on friday and it was 104 so she took me to the emergency room. they gave me some medicine and that made me happy, until everyone started to stick things in my mouth, ears and other awful places. then they needed a pee sample... and they couldn't just ask me to pee in a cup!

the lady said i had an ear infection and my throat looked bad. she gave me penicillin. mom and dad gave me a cocktail of penicillin, tylenol and motrin for a few days and almost took me back to the hospital again because my fever wouldn't go away. then i broke out in bright red hives all over so they stopped giving me drugs until i could go see my doctor Stein on monday. he says i never had an ear infection and my throat looked lovely and that the hives could be an allergic rash. he said to stop giving me medicine. i love doctor Stein. I'm fine now

grandpa's visit

after nana went home, grandpa came out to play.we took a walk at the pier. the waves were mesmerizing

i love pushing my own stroller.
now if i can only figure out how to ride it at the same time...

grandpa took us out to lunch.

i love feeding grandpa. he eats everything!

piggy back rides are the best!

we had a little sullivan gathering that week.
the Hawaii's came to see my new house, sean and brenda were there, and mike and lee came by the day before! i didn't get to meet cousin evie though. she stayed in san francisco.

nana went home on tuesday... i miss her so much! but grandpa is coming on saturday. i haven't seen him since i was a little girl. this is my room. still a mess, but mommy will get to it soon. the house looks like it is finally getting finished. the contractors have been working on it for over 3 months and i still haven't seen that housewarming party that was also supposed to be my birthday party that they promised.

new house

what a hectic month it has been!
so much new stuff to get into, so many new places to explore and so many new ways to get in trouble, i can't keep up. i've hardly even had time to update my blog!
nana came to visit and help us with getting situated in our new house. her main job was to keep me out of trouble while mom and dad worked on stuff around the house. nana bought me so many toys and books since she has been here. i hope she never leaves!
these cabinets are much easier to open than our old ones!
so far, this is the only room that is really clean and unpacked.
i hang out here a lot

this is my favorite part of my room. it's like having two rooms!
i furnished it myself.

i also help with the unpacking.
i need to make sure my things don't get lost!

weeks of birthdays!

it's my birthday today! i don't get a party until we move into our new house, and mom and dad feel guilty about it, but the truth is, i'll get to make my birthday last for weeks. it started out with a happy birthday song from grandpa and a pile of pancakes!

daddy left for china last week, so he missed my birthday- that means i get more birthday reparations when he comes home!

and then the mailman brought a present from cousin francis!

then auntie mae and kimlan took me to a chinese buffet for lunch.
i got to eat everything!

then i got to drive a trolley and play till i was pooped at the mall.

i had a bit of a growth spurt last month.
most of my clothes don't fit me anymore!

I'm dancing on our new toilets. can't wait to get into our new house.
just a few more weeks!

there are lemons at our new house. they taste kind of funny

i went to lots of new places.
daddy showed me how to use the computer at the library...

...mommy and i picked flowers at the park...

...we watched pelicans eat fish at the wild animal park......i found a balloon at the chocolate street fair. then it flew away...

...i drove daddy in a firetruck at the mall...

...and had a blast at chuck e cheese!

Mid May

they think my naps shouldn't be more than two hours long,
but a girl needs her sleep!!

I love my after dinner walks,
especially when daddy gets home in time to come with us.

Pointing at things will have to do until i get my words dialed.
it seems to work fairly well.

mommy and daddy took me to the chicken pie shop in san diego. yum!

i've graduated to the big people tub.
although mommy still washes me in the sink sometimes.

hanging out with mom before she had to go to work on mother's day.
i got to spend the whole day with daddy.

we went to the park and daddy took lots of pictures.
i got in trouble for eating these.
